Range Master draws a first-pass Surface Danger Zone (SDZ) for your shooting range — right on a real satellite map — so you can see, at a glance, the area that must stay clear of people.
Download on the App Store →Built by the team at Range Operations — a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business with eight years of military range safety and range operations experience — and given to the shooting community as a planning tool.
Drop a firing point by GPS or tap, set your bearing, and watch the danger zone update live. Pick your caliber and impact surface, then see max range, ricochet reach, danger area, and vertical hazard drawn over your actual terrain.
GPS or tap-to-place firing point; the zone redraws as you adjust bearing and target distance.
From .22 LR to .50 BMG, on earth or steel — each with its own max range and ricochet profile.
Save ranges, track hot/cold status, put shooters on the line, and log every session.
Daylight, sun position, and weather at your firing point. Outdoor mode for bright sun; works offline once installed.
Round counts per shooter and estimated lead build-up in every berm — planning-grade recordkeeping.
A clean planning summary for your own files, stamped and shareable.
Range Master is not intended to produce a real, certified Surface Danger Zone. The zone it draws is a first-pass estimate on idealized flat ground. It is not a certified survey, not a site-specific risk assessment, and not a substitute for regulatory compliance. Final responsibility for safe range operation always rests with the range operator.
Certified SDZ maps have to be professionally produced — terrain-corrected, reviewed, signed, and defensible in front of an insurer, inspector, or permitting authority. That is exactly what we do. When your project needs the real thing, Range Operations produces it.
The free app plans with .22 LR. Premium unlocks the full ammo library, up to 15 saved ranges, the range layout designer, lead/berm tracking, and planning-summary exports.
